Rosemary – Deacon

What do you do Monday – Friday?

During the week I work with joint churches committee, Women’s Institute (WI) committee and meetings, belong to the British Legion and go to the gym.

I help once a month with CAMEO (Come And Meet EveryOne) and I am a Duty Officer normally twice a month for Cargo.

In the church, I organise catering, do the rotas for coffee, lunch, breakfast and welcome. I head up one of the teams that cook the Sunday lunch, help with Messy Church and in my leadership role try and keep an eye on what needs doing.

Likes and Dislikes

I like most things except coconut and marzipan. I like walking, when I have the opportunity, and also visiting people.

Family, children, pets

I have 3 children, 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

What is your favourite Bible passage?

Proverbs 3:5-6, they were given to me at my baptism and have helped me many times when life has been difficult.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Short testimony

I became a Christian in 1972 and a member of Chiddingfold Baptist Church in 1973.

Through difficult times I have always felt the Lord with me, especially through my husband’s illness and passing in 2006. My family and the Church family have been such a support when it was needed.
